At the general meeting of the Federation of Estonian Engineering Industry, which took place on 25 August at the Student House of Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech), the project of Marketex Offshore Constructions team, which has manufactured a system for offshore loading of crude oil for the first time in Europe, was awarded the title of “Business of 2019”.
“This project is a unique engineering and technical solution for Estonia,” said Triin Ploompuu, manager at the Federation of Estonian Engineering Industry. The system, ordered by a Norwegian company, — or in other words, BTL with a length of 34 metres, width of 24 metres and height of 24.4 metres — was shipped to the customer on 15 December 2019. BTL is a link between geostatic subsea manifold connections and FPSO vessel, enabling the vessel to take up the position of least resistance to the prevailing weather conditions at all times.
The Federation of Estonian Engineering Industries is the largest non-profi t professional association of the manufacturing industry in Estonia, with includes 120 member organisations that are involved in the development of the engineering, machine building and metalworking industries.
